Retreat: Taj Mahua Kothi Lodge
India > Bandhavgarh National Park

Mahua Kothi is named after one of India’s most beautiful tree, the Madhuca Indica, more commonly know as “butter tree”. This tree with its white flowers plays a central role in festivals and rituals. The original “Kothi” (homestead) has been beautifully renovated. The interior includes wooden shutters, hand-finished natural coloured walls, open rafters and handmade potter roof tiles. The floors are stone strips set in lime mortar.
