Namibia > Sossusvlei

In 1996 Wilderness Safaris set up an operation close to the spectacular sights of Sossusvlei. This area had previously been used for goat farming: once the removal of stock fences, exotic species and grazing pressures occurred, wildlife began returning. We recovered grass species compositions and diversity, allowing wild mammals and their resultant predators to return to fill these new ecological niches. The research project includes other small carnivores, like the elusive aardwolf.
