Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay is located on the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman. The setting of the indigenous village style accommodations and private marina is dramatic, with mountains on one side and a 5,240 ft sandy beach at Zighy Bay on the other. The peninsula’s rugged mountains rise up to 6,880 ft above the coast and just into the Strait of Hormuz have a spectacular fjord-like look: it is no wonder that Musandam is also called “The Norway of the Middle East”. The resort features 79 pool villas plus the “Private Reserve” and 2 “Retreats” in traditional Omani style, with modern amenities and luxury.

Retreat Projects

Oral Hygiene

The Oman Dental Society, which is a non-governmental organization, and a team of dentists and hygienists often visit the children. They advise on all matters related to oral health and provide a service of preventative care by applying fluoride therapy, tooth decay prevention, tooth brushing demonstration, provision of complementary toothbrushes and toothpaste. They also provide a on-site dental check up and consultations to the public.

Beach cleaning

One of the experiences Six Senses strive for is to create harmony with the environment and the local community. On a weekly basis both hosts and the community participate in a beach cleaning exercise. This is a great opportunity for hosts to interact with the community. We also aim not only to clean up around the resort, but also to take action in the surrounding areas and set a good example for others to follow.

Teaching English

The local community is very important to the resort, as this area is shared with a small village that live of fishing, date farming and goats, which encourages us preserving their traditional way of life. We offer English classes on a weekly basis, which is to further the personal development and the career of the children. By doing this we hope to make a positive difference in their lives.
