Retreat Projects

Community

Bellarocca prides itself in becoming a major contributor to the economic development of the province of Marinduque and the Philippines, showcasing an environment-friendly community and a sustainable resort running on machinations and standards as that of an international luxury property. Our staff is entirely from Philippines, many employees come from the Marinduque community, so we aim to be more than just contributors to the social and economic growth of the area.

Traditions

Marinduque has a unique custom of welcoming and honoring guests. While a group of men and women sing greetings to the “honoree”, another group called “mamumutong” sing and dance in front of him, showering the guest with flowers and coins to wish him long life and as a sign of affection. Local tourists are familiar with this ceremony; for those who are not familiar it’s an incredible experience.

Eco-Turism

The provincial government is promoting Marinduque as the eco-tourism capital of the Philippines. “Green tourism” offers leisure and learning activities where visitors are encouraged to enjoy nature and culture, and interchange with the locals in agricultural, mountain or fishing village settings. We are sure that eco-tourism, specially during these years that environment-related issues grow daily, will quickly increase.
