On Thailand’s tropical island of Phuket, Amanpuri (‘peaceful place’) embraces the Andaman Sea and features 40 Thai-styled pavilions and 30 private villa homes interspersed throughout a mature coconut plantation. Connected to the resort’s facilities by elevated walkways, each pavilion includes a large bedroom, a spacious dressing area, separate bath and shower and an outdoor sala and sun deck. Adjacent to the resort, villa homes mostly have ocean-front settings and consist of from two to six bedrooms finished with Thai furnishings, art and antiques. Enjoying a private pool, living and dining salas and a live-in maid and cook, villas are ideal for meetings, family gatherings and weddings. Amanpuri is home to Southeast Asia’s largest resort-based charter fleet of cruisers and sailing craft. From overnight trips to half-day excursions and sunset cruises, Amanpuri is renowned for its optional boating activities, complimentary water sports and crescent beach.

Retreat Projects

Nature and Health

Set in a secluded coconut grove, Aman Spa, Amanresorts’ first full-service spa, is a holistic sanctuary that nurtures both body and mind. Using exclusively-prepared products made only from the purest ingredients, Aman Spa features a range of massage therapies, facials, scrubs, body wraps and beauty treatments with salas for meditation and Yoga. The state-of-the-art Gym features floor-to-ceiling windows with open views to the Andaman Sea, a Pilates studio and a juice bar.

Traditional ceremonies

A traditional Thai Buddhist ceremony is performed by up to five monks who garland the bride and groom with a string sai mongkon that is then entwined to symbolise the coming together of two individuals. The couple are then blessed with holy water. The wedding party may wish to elaborate on the blessing with traditional Thai music and dancers, a Thai feast, elephant rides or perhaps a cruise on one of Amanpuri’s fleet of luxury vessels.
