Mozambique is a country full of historical and naturalistic attractions. Colonial cities witnessing its Portuguese past are joined by pristine archipelagos with enchanted beaches, humble villages and lush vegetation, rich in mangroves and baobabs. With the civil war now behind it, it is one of the safest countries in Africa and retains an interesting Unesco Heritage: its small island of the same name, the island of Mozambique that was the ancient capital. Its other islands such as Benguerra and the archipelagos of Bazaruto and Quirimbas constitute the natural heritage of Mozambique, protected by several National Parks that preserve the coral reefs of these marine paradises populated by turtles, whales, dolphins, sharks and 375 different species of fish.
