Ecoluxury Fair 2024, dedicated to sustainable luxury tourism, took place from 7 to 8 November at the new Spazio FIELD location in Palazzo Brancaccio, in the centre of Rome.
The two-day workshop facilitated the networking of tourism operators who have made eco-sustainability a business model.
The first day saw the Forum, a unique opportunity for in-depth discussion of topical issues, introduced by Dr. Ivaa Jelinic, CEO of ENIT, who offered an overview of the current situation of tourism in Italy. Among the topics discussed were:
Overtourism during which Councillor Onorato presented the innovative strategies implemented by the Municipality of Rome. Sustainability in the hotel sector with the experiences shared by Dr. Stefano Bonetto - Project Manager Sustainable Territories and Dr. Giorgio Caire di Lauzet - AD Dream&Charme. Towards zero emissions by Dr. Murzilli Marcello - CEO Eremito, Dr. Daniele Nannetti - General Manager Villa Petriolo and Dr. Pasolini Pietro - CEO Green Future Project.
Mental wellbeing: mindfulness and digital wellbeing experts Dr Guido Freddi - Mindtrek and Alessio Carciofi - Digital Wellbeing highlighted the importance of integrating wellbeing practices into the holiday, for a more complete and satisfying experience.
Sustainability in transport: Dr. Diana De Vincenzo - Resp.le Gestione Vendita Trade Centro Sud AV. Trenitalia, Dr. Gianluca Santilli - Counsel Grimaldi Alliance and President of the Bikeconomy Observatory, and Dr. Gianluca Della Torre - Head of Business Sales Italy ITA AIRWAYS presented the latest innovations in terms of sustainable mobility.
Among the speakers were also Dr. Marcella Ercolini from Tourism Ireland, Dr. Raffaele Pasquini - Deputy Managing Director Triumph Italy, Dr. Laura Anello - President Fondazione Le Vie dei Tesori, Dr. Stefano Colavito CEO Arthemis, Dr. Adriano Meloni - CEO Sphere Italia and Dr. Roberto Corbella - Secretary General Osservatorio Parlamentare Per Roma.
Ecoluxury Fair 2024 ended on 10 November with three educational tours dedicated to Italian and foreign travel agents with stops in Rome, Northern Lazio, Tivoli and Tuscany
