The Saruni began phasing out plastic bottles in its facilities back in 2018, following the introduction of a ban on plastic bags in Kenya. At the Saruni Wild, guests are also prohibited from bringing plastic bottles; in fact, an aluminium water bottle personalized with their name is provided upon arrival. Each room and all common areas are equipped with water dispensers, allowing guests to refill their water bottles at any time. During meals, water is served in jugs, while guides take care of refilling guests' water bottles during excursions as well.
Saruni Wild is an exclusive tented camp located in the private Lemek Conservancy in the Mara North Conservancy, bordering the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, the lodge boasts a prime location with endless views of the Mara plains where it is possible to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration between July and October.
Consisting of only three tents elegantly furnished to offer an exclusive stay with excellent service and a strategic location that allows guests to observe the local wildlife right from their accommodation. Each tent is fully equipped, with a private bathroom and large veranda. The lodge has a spa and a restaurant that serves dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, inspired by Italian cuisine.
The lodge's guides and staff are mainly members of the Maasai tribe, so visitors have the opportunity to learn more about their culture and traditions not only by listening to their stories, but also by seeing them dance around the campfire or visiting their villages.
Safaris are conducted in uncovered vehicles and led by experienced guides to ensure an exciting, comfortable and safe adventure. The Saruni Wild, which is very active in sustainable initiatives, donates a portion of its proceeds to the projects it works with.
Staying at the Saruni Wild means being able to discover the real Africa.
