When the Vila Kalango pousadas open on the Brazilian coast, the management has decided to involve and make part of the project the local community. It has been created a training program based on the history and development of Vila Kalango: that is how the retreat's design is the result of local artisans creativity, chef's menu finds their origin in the wise local cooks and furnitures have been tracked down by the team vsiting local markets. Artists from the region are more than welcome to expose their works in the hotel to let the guests merge with local heritage.

The resort is located in a large 5,000 sqm park, next to the Great Duna, directly on Jericoacoara's main beach. Founded 15 years ago by a group of surfers, it offers a pleasant stay for couples and families, looking for relaxation and contact with nature. Built with typical materials such as moracatiara wood, carnaúba straw and mud bricks, the resort has stilt houses suspended by eucalyptus columns up to 3 meters from the ground, apartments and bungalows, making the total of 24 large and aired accommodations. A great place for surfers, thanks to the year-round winds, it hosts the Ticowind Windsurf School and collaborates with Rancho do Kite, one of the best kitesurfing schools in the world. The cuisine, simple and genuine, offers typical and international dishes based on meat, fish and seafood. There are a variety of massage options available in the spa, from drainage to shiatsu or Ayurvedic. Many watersport and recreational activities are offered by the resort, such as horseback riding, kayaking, diving, pilates lessons, bike tours and excursions.
