In 2008, in collaboration with the Governorate of the New Valley, Al Tarfa completed an in-depth research and environmental audit of the Dakhla Oasis dune area. Convinced of the importance of preserving this pristine landscape, the lodge has actively worked to protect 7 km² of land, an extraordinary area characterised by spectacular dunes, salt pans, natural lakes, wells and unique flora.
As a result of this commitment, the Dakhla Dunes Park, a protected area managed by Al Tarfa, was born. Today, it represents a model of sustainable ecotourism in the New Valley, contributing to the protection of the natural heritage and the enhancement of the area.
