Bisate Lodge starts recently an important initiative: the reforestation of 43 hectares of Bisate land, mimic the volcanoes’ natural vegetation zones with a bamboo forest at the lower level and Hagenia and Dombea trees further up. The project aims to recreate the indigenous rainforest for the natural recolonisation of the reforested land by birds and animals. To continue this reforestation initiative, where more than 20 000 indigenous trees have been already plantend, Bisate’s guests are encouraged to spend time in the tree nursery and to plant a tree during their stay to contribute directly to the restoration of this area.
