Mwika Bee keeping Project

LOCAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Project description

Sanctuary Swala has developed a beekeeping project located in the village of Mwika on the border of the National Park Tarangire. Beekeeping, in addition to preserving the natural environment, has proved to be a valuable source of income for the community, to which Sanctuary Swala has provided the material to make hives, knowledge and equipment to produce organic acacia honey. All the proceeds from the sale of honey are reinvested in the project, which since 2010 has been a source of income for many local families.

This project contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda
