Nakatindi's Community Projects

LOCAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Project description

Sanctuary Retreats Philanthropy (SRP) began working with the community and school in July 2010 to determine their needs and improve their general well-being through empowerment, infrastructure, skill development and the overall enhancement of health, education and welfare for the future. Goal was to identify and sponsor long-term, viable and self-sustaining projects that will have the support of both visitors and staff. Past projects included school meals program, a new classroom block building, a new medical clinic and various training programs within the school and community. These still include workshops to teach farming skills and entrepreneurship to promote income generation.
