DumaTau is set in the private Linyanti concession , a huge area of over 120,000 hectares rich in wildlife bordering Chobe National Park. Located near the Savute Canal it offers an excellent combination of habitats for being close to Linyanti swamps, floodplains and mopane forests. The wildlife mix changes depending on the water levels of the canal, but it is common to spot zebra, antelope, giraffe, buffalo, warthog, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. DumaTau overlooks the vast Osprey Lagoon and is known for the concentrations of elephants that congregate right in front, especially during the dry winter months. Ideal place for birdwatchers, internationally recognized as an IBA (Important Bird Area) due to its high concentration of eagles and raptors such as Dickinson's kestrels. Adding this area to a Botswana itinerary makes for a varied and balanced experience of the country and in many ways is an essential complement to a visit to the Okavango. Duma Tau, powered entirely by solar energy, has eight ultra-spacious suites of 142 square meters each. All have a private plunge pool, a comfortable lounge, large bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers. Duma Tau's main dining and lounge area boasts wide-angle vista overlooking the wildlife-rich lagoon. The Osprey Retreat completes the property: a health club with a gym and an inviting pool with a shaded sundeck. DumaTau exists to be an example of how a luxury safari camp can have a light ecological footprint without comprimising the guest experience – and to make a positive contribution to local conservation initiatives.
