Traveling west we first reach Città della Pieve, a town with a fine architectural structure that, from the top of a hill dominates the Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno. You can choose to continue along the highway thus directly reaching Orvieto, the city that stands out on the horizon with its imposing Duomo, however, the provincial roads are not to be outdone, offering evocative landscape views and small towns with discreet charm. Another stop not to be missed is Civita di Bagnoregio, the "dying city" is actually a hamlet of 11 inhabitants situated on a tuff rock and reachable only by a pedestrian bridge. After breakfast, we recommend this day to reach Perugia, a city that has seen popes and condottieri, saints and merchants but above all first-rate artists. The historic center is the heart of the city, often the site of modern events and tradition. Lose yourself in the alleys around Piazza IV Novembre overlooked by the sumptuous Palazzo dei Priori and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. You can continue the day by moving to Assisi on the traces of St. Francis, or to the quaint villages in the surrounding area such as Deruta, famous for its ceramics, or even along I Borghi on Lake Trasimeno.
