The wonderful 500-hectare estate nestled in the green hills between Umbria and Tuscany is composed of 3 ancient Borghi: San Giovanni, La Crocicchia and Corvignano, which respectively house different types of suites, indoor and outdoor spaces for events and beautiful villas soon to be built. The hospitality of I Borghi dell'Eremo stems from the desire to unite the unspoiled nature of the forest reserve with the authenticity of the estate's own agricultural tradition, all in an expertly restored setting where technology, sensitivity and love of tradition come together to give guests a total immersive experience.
3-night stay at I Borghi dell'Eremo
The privileged location of I Borghi dell'Eremo makes it an exceptional intermediate point during a trip from Rome to Florence, ideal for discovering an area rich in culture and tradition. It also constitutes an ideal place for a detox stay in contact with nature.
Conveniently reached from both Rome and Firenza (about 2 hours for both directions), it allows several stops along the way. Coming from Florence along the A1, it is possible to stop in Arezzo or visit Montepulciano and Sarteano; coming from Rome, a stop not to be missed is certainly Orvieto. The same localities can be visited on an excursion by making a base at I Borghi dell'Eremo.
Arrival at I Borghi dell'Eremo and check-in at the room booked.
We recommend devoting the afternoon to visiting the estate, including the reserve forest with its many nature trails, and the farm. Relaxation in the Eterea spa, consisting of suggestive and reserved rooms surrounded by nature.
Dinner at the Essenza restaurant.
After a tasty breakfast, we suggest a full-day excursion to discover some of the area's most picturesque villages, dating back to medieval times but with undeniable Etruscan origins.
Travelling west we first reach Città della Pieve, a town with a fine architectural structure that, from the top of a hill, dominates the Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno.
You can choose to continue along the motorway, thus directly reaching Orvieto, the town that stands out on the horizon with its imposing Duomo. The provincial roads are no less impressive, offering suggestive landscape views and small towns with discreet charm. Another stop not to be missed is Civita di Bagnoregio, the ‘dying city’ is actually a hamlet of 11 inhabitants situated on a tuff rock and reachable only by a footbridge.
The SP55 runs along the Valle dei Calanchi towards the motorway and then back towards I Borghi dell'Eremo.
After breakfast, we recommend today's trip to Perugia, a city that has seen the birth of popes and condottieri, saints and merchants, but above all first-class artists. The historic centre is the heart of the city, often the site of modern events and tradition.
Lose yourself in the alleys around Piazza IV Novembre, overlooked by the sumptuous Palazzo dei Priori and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. You can continue the day by travelling to Assisi on the traces of Saint Francis, or to the characteristic villages in the surrounding area such as Deruta, famous for its ceramics, or along I Borghi on Lake Trasimeno.
Return to I Borghi dell'Eremo. Overnight stay.
After breakfast depart for your next destination.
Il tour può essere combinato con un soggiorno presso l’Oasyhotel per scoprire i paesaggi toscani del Casentino.
